Kentucky Wetlands Reserve Program Funded by Year - 1995-2007

Updated 07/31/2008

The Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) is a voluntary program that offers private landowners an opportunity to protect and restore wetland habitats on their lands. WRP is a long-term conservation, wetland restoration and wildlife habitat program. Landowners that wish to participate in WRP have three choices: a permanent conservation easement; a 30-year conservation easement or a 10-year restoration cost-share agreement.

The following table provides a thirteen year summary of the NRCS Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) in Kentucky. Kentucky did not receive funding for the program in 2002, but was active again in 2003. For the last five years, the program has been well received by landowners and highly successful in protecting wetland resources throughout the State.
