Grassland Reserve Program (GRP)

You will note that weight is placed on those offers with remnant native grasses and those offers with existing grazing systems compatible with NRCS practice standards. 

We propose to place rental agreement offers in a separate ranking pool from easements since the interim rule specifies 60 percent of the funds must be expended on easements. 

Additionally, NRCS proposes to use similar data sources and procedures for developing the GRP Geographic Area Cap as was used for the WRP Geographic Area Rate Cap except that the interim rule specifies we must take into account the grassland value. 

We plan to extend the application cutoff date for rental offers several weeks later than for easement offers.
