Forestland by Capability Class

In 1997, the largest number of acres of forestland in Kentucky was on soils with Land Capability Class VII. That acreage was about 5.92 million acres. On Land Capability Classes VI, IV, III, and II the acreage was respectively: 2.07 million acres, 1.13 million acres, 0.78 million, and 0.64 million acres.
