  • From 1982 to 1997, the total amount of soil eroding from Kentucky's cropland has decreased from about 40.6 million tons/year to 14.1 million tons /year. Total soil erosion on cropland is about 2.9 times less in 1997 than in 1982.
  • Soil erosion on CRP Land is minimal and totals about 0.3 million tons/year.
  • In 1982 through 1992, total soil erosion on pastureland remained rather constant at about 14 million tons/year. In 1997, the amount decreased to about 11.3 million tons/year.
