M.   Nutrient Management (590)

  • This practice is eligible only for application of animal wastes. Application of commercial fertilizers is not eligible.

  • The practice is eligible on farms that have an existing or planned storage facility. Farms with no storage facility but are receiving waste from other animal feeding operations are also eligible.

  • Soil and manure tests are required.

  • Incentive rate is $25/acre flat rate each year for three years.

  • Incentive payment limited to $2,000 maximum per year per contract.

  • The participant must apply this practice for three years during the contract period on the contract acreage according to a nutrient management plan.
