G.   Filter Strip (393)

• Points can not be awarded for filter strips in association with other practices such as Grade Stabilization Structures, Waste Storage Structures, or Streambank and Shoreline Protection. Where a filter strip is a companion practice to the primary practice, award points and apply costs to the primary practice.

• Where fence is required as a companion practice, award points and apply costs to the filter strip, not to the fence.

• Filter strip widths shall be according to the Filter Strip (393) standard.

• In order to award points, a filter strip must be established or enhanced to meet FOTG standards. EQIP cost in establishing the filter strip cover must be incurred in order to award points.

• Natural regeneration on filter strips is not permitted for purposes of assigning points and/or cost-share.

• Livestock shall be permanently excluded from this practice.
