The Pigeon Roost flood retarding structure (FRS) #3 will begin construction in December.
Structure is located in McKee in Jackson County.
The Two Chiefs’ Partnership Awards recognize outstanding partnerships in forest conservation work among Conservation Districts, State Foresters, the Forest Service, and NRCS.
Kentucky's Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program area borders a 100-mile section of the Upper Green River Watershed encompassing all or part of eight counties.

$11 million to the Fayette County Purchase of Development Rights
(PDR). Since Lexington-Fayette Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) program became an FRPP partner seven years ago, NRCS has provided over $11 million in FRPP funding to the Fayette County PDR.
During the 2007 Annual KACD Meeting, Six Landowners were awarded Hero Certificates.
Kentucky's Conservation Partnership honored six
landowners for their conservation efforts in Prescribed Grazing and No–Till
practices.
Mike Hubbs, State Conservationist was the keynote speaker
at the Wednesday
evening banquet and the
2007 Small Farmer Award was presented to the Andrews Family.
Multiple
Partnership Project is underway. First large scale stream restoration project for the federally threatened dace since it’s listing in 1987.
During the summer, the Civil Right Committee assisted each area
to present field days. Attendance exceeded 2000 overall.
