On May 30 State Conservationist Michael D. Hubbs toured ongoing construction of the Pigeon Roost FRS #3.

On May 13 a Heavy Residue Roll Down No-Till Tobacco Demonstration was held in Fayette County.

The Pigeon Roost flood retarding structure (FRS) #3 will begin construction in December.

Structure is located in McKee in Jackson County.

The Two Chiefs’ Partnership Awards recognize outstanding partnerships in forest conservation work among Conservation Districts, State Foresters, the Forest Service, and NRCS.

$11 million to the Fayette County Purchase of Development Rights (PDR).

Since Lexington-Fayette Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) program became an FRPP partner seven years ago, NRCS has provided over $11 million in FRPP funding to the Fayette County PDR.

During the Annual KACD Meeting, Six Landowners were awarded Hero Certificates.

Kentucky's Conservation Partnership honored six landowners for their conservation efforts in Prescribed Grazing and No–Till practices.

Mike Hubbs, State Conservationist was the keynote speaker at the Wednesday evening banquet and the 2007 Small Farmer Award was presented to the Andrews Family.

Multiple Partnership Project is underway.

First large scale stream restoration project for the federally threatened dace since it’s listing in 1987.

During the summer, the Civil Right Committee assisted each area to present field days.

Attendance exceeded 2000 overall.

Another year of land judging has passed into the recordbooks with Madison Central winning.

With the aid of Calvin Bohannon, David Gehring, Scott Aldridge, and Eddie Tudor, Soils Staff managed to set up a very difficult contest.

Field Day at the Godman and Young Farms

On July 28, the Harrison County and Pendleton County Conservation Districts held a joint field day at the farms of Randy and Lisa Godman in Pendleton County and the Young farm in Harrison County.  Among the presenters were people from Natural Resource Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, Harrison County Conservation District, Pendleton County Conservation District, Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife, UK Extension Service, and The Harrison County Beef Cattle Association.
