For DC’s – Activating Level 2 eAuthentication Accounts

  1. Go to the USDA eAuthentication website at www.eAuth.egov.usda.gov and click on Local Registration Authority Login.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page that opens and click on “click this link to validate a level 2 customer”.  You will be asked to login to your eAuthentication account.
  3. On the next screen click on “Local Registration Authority – Validate Level 2 Customer."
  4. Search for the account profile you are validating by typing in the User ID (if known) or last name, first name, or state.
  5. Once the account is found, click the dot next to the User ID and click “select” in the lower right corner of the page.
  6. Under Credential Document Type, select the appropriate ID used.  A U.S. Driver's License, Passport, Military ID, or state issued photo ID are approved forms of credentials.
  7. Put the credential expiration date in the appropriate box then click validate and then submit.
  8. The account holder should get a confirmation email letting them know you have completed the activation of the level 2 account.

 

IMPORTANT:  First and last name in the account profile, must be entered exactly as they appear on the Photo ID that will be shown to the Local Registration Authority (LRA).    The new user must visit the NRCS LRA in person.  You must compare the first/last name and birth date to prove the identity of the new user using the Photo ID.
