NRCS IN KENTUCKY AWARDED SIX (6) FLOODPLAIN EASEMENTS

Lexington, Ky., June 4, 2009— On June 2, Secretary Vilsack announced Emergency Watershed Program Floodplain Easements selected under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. 

Kentucky was awarded six Floodplain Easement Projects located in three counties - Ballard, Fleming and Hickman.

Kentucky’s six easement projects cover 810 acres and are worth almost $3.6 million.  

Jacob Kuhn, EWP Program Manager said, “Kentucky received 149 applications from across the state covering approximately 30,610 acres. Applications were then submitted to the Department for determination.”
